Antonio Segui (Argentine born 1934)
Born in Cordoba Argentina, Antonio Segui studied painting and sculpture at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid and at the Ecole Nationale SupErieure des Beaux-Arts. Then he returned to his homeland and worked in the editorial of the magazine Orientacion. In 1957 he had his first solo exhibition.
In Mexico, he became familiar with the graffiti art. In 1963 he went to Paris, where he still lives and works today. In 1967 he was awarded the art prize of the city of Darmstadt.
Works by the artist are in the collections of the Kunsthalle Darmstadt, the Museu de Arte Contemporanea, Sao Paulo, as well as the Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York.
